10 RPGs On Sale That Are Worth Buying
Backlog enthusiasts need to stick together when it comes to finding the best sales, and this weekend is gonna be good eating for Square Enix fans. Regardless of which platform you enjoy most, there’s some great options for every platform. Not a Square Enix fan (Do those people exist?), a few top tier RPGs are on sale in the eShop if you have yet to play these beauties.
Mass Effect Legendary Edition
$5.99 - 90% Off Until June 18 - Lowest Ever Price - Bioware was a staple of the 2000’s and Mass Effect 2 still remains one of the best RPGs of all-time. Definitely worth picking up at a cost less than a Starbucks Latte.
Disco Elysium - The Final Cut
$11.99 - 70% Off Until June 20 - Lowest Ever Price - Still considered the best current indie RPG (by me anyway), this psychological thriller of a CRPG is a mind blowing experience that’s worthy of a spot in your backlog.
Triangle Strategy
$41.99 - 30% Off Until June 17 - Lowest Ever Price - Is a sequel ever gonna be announced? A killer story with multiple branches and choices is only over shadowed by some of the best turn-based tactics combat you’ve ever seen.
Slay the Spire
$8.49 - 66% Off Until June 20 - I can’t believe this game came out in 2019. If there was ever a review score that I wish I could amend, it’s this one that I wrote for Slay the Spire at NWR.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade
$15.99 - 62% Off Until June 13 - Lowest Ever Price - I may purchase this game on PC, simply for the ability to mod Power Ranger outfits on all the characters. What more can be said about the Remake series, both are all-timers.
Final Fantasy XIV Complete Edition
$23.99 - 60% Off Until June 13 - Lowest Ever Price - It’s no surprise that Final Fantasy XIV has gone on sale. With the latest expansion only weeks away, now is the perfect time to get into the game. Please be warned, a monthly membership is required though the first month comes with purchase (I think, please double check before purchasing).
Crisis Core - Final Fantasy VII - Reunion
$24.99 - 50% Off Until June 13 - Lowest Ever Price - This remade version of Crisis Core blew exceeded all my expectations. Terrific option for folks looking to experience more Final Fantasy VII story.
The Ascent
$5.99 - 80% Off Until June 20 - Lowest Ever Price - Pretty neat twin-stick shooter with Diablo vibes. This game was once on Xbox GamePass (May still be) and is definitely worth the $6 price. I reviewed the PlayStation 5 version a couple years ago.
PARANORMASIGHT: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo
$11.99 - 40% Off Until June 13 - Lowest Ever Price - Paranormasight is one of the biggest surprise hits in recent memory from Square Enix. Paige and I discuss the game in an episode below which also features Atelier Ryza.
No Man’s Sky
$29.99 - 50% Off Until June 11 - Lowest Ever Price - The sales boards are coming up with crickets when it comes to Xbox. At this point, they’re mostly pushing GamePass, but sometimes you get sales on fantastic games like this one.
Something For Everyone
With Summer Games Fest kicking off, the sales are gonna start come in hard and fast. With the recent absence of big budget RPGs, I’ve got a few extra dollars that is now being out to good use. If you come across some other sales but need to know the quality of the game, you can check out my top 100 RPGs of all-time list over at Backloggd.com.
